Thanks Bike James for this great exercise to help improve your stand up pedal strength.  The airborne lunge is a great single leg squat variation that really challenges the lower body in a unique way. The position of the legs is more similar to standing pedaling on your bike than a standard single leg squat but this variation is also very tough for most riders and hard to pull off at first. This leaves a lot of riders frustrated and giving up on this great exercise too early.

Stuck for an idea for breakfast the other morning I found a frittata recipe, omitted most of their ingredients and came up with this great dish!  It was well received and I loved it!

Attention All Girl Snowboarders!!!  Girls mini comp - March 9th, 3-4pm

Would you like to win a new Bataleon Snowboard?

Of course you do!!  So come out for some fun on March 9th for our Girls Mini Comp.  Its all about the fun!!  It's from 3-4pm, an hour of hanging with the girls!!

No expectations, no fancy tricks, NO INTIMIDATION!!  This is not really a comp this is just an opportunity to have fun on your board and win a prize - it could be a new snowboard!!  We have some goodies from Spy, BettyGoHard Swag and more up for grabs.

Connor is going to build us a super sweet, easy, small jump and all you have to do is ride over it!!  Yeah if you go big you'll get the bragging rights of going big, however there are more prizes for turning up and giving it a go than anything else.

Only $5 to enter OR FREE if you are in the Banked Slalom!  So come on out and have some fun - YES YOU CAN DO IT!!

Still not sure?  Send Tash an email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and she'll take you into the park and session the small jump with you - build your confidence, the jumps are so sweet - YOU CAN DO IT!!!

PLUS - by coming out you are supporting BettyGoHard and our push to bring more ladies boarding events to Red Resort.  We want to have the Roxy Ride Days out next year, run some fun girl jams where you can build confidence and win prizes and so much more.  Remember, if you want to hit those cliffs with style the park is the place to get it dialled!!

JUMPS - You don't need to know the technical terms for jumps to go over them but here is an article on snowboarding terms and what they mean, check it out and then you'll know what you are doing when you grab your board as you go over the jump:)

Do you feel intimidated by the Park?

Don't really know what the boys mean when they say 'I just did a method' or 'that was a sweet Indy'?  And feel a little dumb asking?

Here is the girls guide to snowboard tricks, build your confidence by knowing what the terms mean - I mean really if the boys can figure it out so can we!!

This is a great recipe for all you active sorts out there - the hardest thing is getting them from the fridge to the outdoors before you eat them all!!

A quick post from James Wilson answering a question that I'm sure many of us have had!!

Overtraining is a funny thing - either you never have to worry about it because you are too lazy to work that hard (nothing wrong with that in some respects) or you seem to be in a constant battle with it as you try to balance your desire to do more and work harder with the reality that you can't physically handle everything you think you need to do. Some riders need a kick in the pants and some, like the rider in this Rider Q&A blog post, need to be told it is alright to back off a bit every now and then.

Come celebrate snowboarding and race your friends down the face of Red. The golden fork going to the winner of each category and many other prizes up for grabs including a day of catboarding for the fastest guy and girl.

Ladies there are no excuses to not enter the Banked Slalom - this is not about how fast you are, how good you are or winning it is about showing that you are and always will be a snowboarder!!  Get out and give it a go - you get to ride the course to yourself and have more fun than you can imagine - don't be intimidated - sign up before you think too hard about it - that's right just do it cos you love snowboarding!!!

Plus BettyGoHard is co-hosting the Gett'n Grabby girls jam session after the comp on Saturday, come session the jump from 3-4pm and be in to win a new snowboard!!!!

I recently received this email from James Wilson about the ability to recover efficiently during exercise efforts.  Whether you are out on the trail or at the gym Your ability to recover between hard efforts is a vital skill that can be just as important as training your ability to work hard.
