The 2012 Canada~Snowboard Speed Nationals
Nakiska, AB - April 1st – 7th

(Vancouver, BC - March 7, 2012) Canada~Snowboard, in partnership with Alpine Canada and Alberta Snowboard Association, is proud to announce the upcoming 2012 Canada~Snowboard Speed Nationals at Nakiska, Alberta, April 1st to 7th.

The Canadian National Champions and Junior Champions will be awarded to the top Parallell Giant Slalom and Snowboardcross riders. Nestled in the Canadian Rockies and home to the 88 Winter Olympic Alpine events, Nakiska will provide an excellent competition venue for Canada’s best to compete.

The Nationals Championships is a great opportunity for the next generation of young snowboarders to compete against Canada’s current elite level athletes and learn what it takes to excel at a high level. Canada’s National Snowboard Team will be in attendance featuring olympic medalists Maëlle Ricker, Dominique Maltais and Jasey-Jay Anderson.

“We’re really excited to be working with such great partners and to be holding this event at such a fantastic location,” said Dustin Heise, Sport Development Director at Canada~Snowboard. “Athletes should expect a great course at Nakiska and a wonderful event experience overall.”
